Le Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls+ Community Response Fund is a Saskatchewan-based grant program that supports safety, healing, and violence prevention projects for Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit+ people.

It’s part of the province’s commitment to reconciliation and follows the recommendations from the National Inquiry into MMIWG. Community-led groups can apply for up to $40,000 to run projects that focus on building partnerships, preventing violence, and creating safer spaces for Indigenous families and communities.

 

Who is eligible for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls+ Community Response Fund?

  • Saskatchewan-based local Indigenous grassroots groups

  • Indigenous-led non-profits with valid incorporation

  • First Nation Band Councils, Métis Locals, and Tribal Councils

  • Non-Indigenous non-profits and municipalities working in authentic partnership with Indigenous communities

  • Organizations serving mostly First Nations or Métis people

🔎 Note: All applicants must show active incorporation if they are non-profits and include details of project partners, who may be contacted for confirmation.

 

Who can apply for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls+ Community Response Fund?

  • Authorized representatives from eligible organizations

  • Applicants must submit a clear, complete application, budget, and—if applicable—letters of support from partners

  • Online submissions are preferred, as the form can be saved and completed later

 

What are the conditions of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls+ Community Response Fund?

  • Up to $40,000 available per project

  • Max 10% of the grant can be used for admin costs

  • Funding is only for Saskatchewan-based activities

 

Not eligible:

  • Projects already funded by WAGE Canada

  • Staff wages or corporate profit-based projects

  • Out-of-province travel

  • Projects must aim to:

    • Build partnerships

    • Promote prevention

    • Improve safety for Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit+ people

  • In-kind support is encouraged to help stretch funding

 

Dates limites à connaître

  • First intake deadline: May 31, 2025

  • Second intake deadline: November 10, 2025
