The New Horizons for Seniors Program is a federal grant for community projects that help seniors stay active, connected, and included.
It supports projects that are led by seniors or shaped with seniors in a meaningful way. Think workshops, mentorship, volunteer programs, accessibility improvements, or events that help older adults take part in community life.

What does the New Horizons for Seniors Program fund?
The grant can support projects that help seniors:
- Volunteer in their community

- Learn about elder abuse prevention
- Join social activities
- Access spaces or equipment that reduce barriers
Projects can also support seniors facing barriers, including rural seniors, Indigenous seniors, seniors with disabilities, and seniors with low income. You can read the full program objectives for more detail.
This may connect well with programs focused on accessible transportation, community outreach vehicles, or mobile clinic planning, depending on the project.

Does the funding support wheelchair accessible vehicles or mobile medical units?
