Catapult Canada: What You Need To Know About This Grant

Funding opportunity

Catapult Canada is a national grant program created by the Rideau Hall Foundation.

What does the grant entail?

  • It helps youth-serving groups offer learning, mentorship, training, and culturally grounded programs.

  • The funding supports projects that open more doors for young people who face barriers in education or career pathways.

  • The program also builds a community of organizations that share tools, training, and guidance to help each other grow.

Who is eligible for Catapult Canada?

  • Canadian organizations that support youth as a central part of their work.

  • Registered charities and nonprofit organizations.

  • Small or newly formed nonprofits can also apply.

  • Projects should support youth who have limited access to learning or support, including Indigenous youth, newcomers, refugee youth, and youth who are out of school or work.

Who can apply for the Catapult Canada grant?

  • Any Canadian registered charity or incorporated non-profit.

  • Grassroots groups are allowed to apply if they have the structure to manage project funds.

  • Projects must take place in Canada and directly support youth development or learning.

What are the conditions of the Catapult Canada grant?

  • Projects must help youth grow skills or confidence through learning, mentoring, cultural programs, or community-based training.

  • Funding can go toward planning, program development, staffing, evaluation, training, digital tools, or community partnerships.

  • Groups that receive funding join a learning network that offers shared tools and support.

  • Projects need clear goals and a plan to show how youth benefit.

How much funding is available?

  • General project grants range from 25,000 to 150,000 dollars.

  • Targeted grants for specific groups such as newcomers, refugee youth, and youth not in school or work range from 25,000 to 100,000 dollars.

Deadline dates to know

  • The most recent deadline was June 20, 2025 at noon Eastern Time.

  • For the general stream, funded projects must finish by March 31, 2027.

  • For the targeted stream, projects must finish by September 30, 2026.

  • Catapult Canada opens new calls regularly, so checking the Rideau Hall Foundation website is helpful.

Does this grant support capital purchases, such as mobile outreach or counselling vehicles?

  • Catapult Canada does not cover big capital purchases such as vehicles.

  • It is mainly for program growth, training, curriculum development, digital tools, community engagement, and staffing.

  • However, many organizations use Catapult Canada alongside other funding sources. For example, pairing it with the Youth Mental Health fund, which does support vehicle purchases, can create a stronger overall budget for both programs and equipment.
