Have you ever signed off on a vehicle purchase and then wondered, “What happens if something goes wrong six months from now?” When you’re investing in a specialized vehicle, your conversion warranty quickly becomes more than fine print. It becomes peace of mind.
If you’re leading a health centre in Northern Ontario, managing transportation for seniors in British Columbia, or coordinating outreach in Manitoba, you’re carrying real responsibility. A breakdown can cancel a dialysis appointment, disrupt a vaccination clinic, or leave someone waiting in the cold. That gap between buying a vehicle and feeling fully protected is stressful. You want confidence that your wheelchair van warranty or mobile medical van warranty will actually support you when it counts.
At MoveMobility, we’ve spent over 20 years building vehicles that remove barriers to care and connection across Canada. In the past three years alone, we’ve manufactured more than 480 wheelchair vans and 180 mobile medical units. We’re certified under the Ford Pro Upfitter program and Stellantis QPro, and our vehicles carry the National Safety Mark. We’ve partnered with organizations like Quest Community Health Centre to help communities move forward with dignity. Still, we know we are one of several manufacturers, so clear information matters.
In this article, you’ll learn:
- How: You request warranty assistance.
- What: Our van conversion limited warranty includes.
- Which: Component warranties apply, including Webasto, BraunAbility, AMF-Bruns, Intermotive, and Q’Straint.
Let’s walk through it together.
How do you get warranty assistance?
When your conversion warranty needs to be used, the first thing to know is that it’s about solving your problem quickly and keeping your vehicle working for the people who depend on it. You want support that gets you moving again without confusion. The process is straightforward and built around helping you.
Step 1: Reach out to us
Call or email MoveMobility’s service team at 844-951-3808 or service@movemobility.ca. Our team will help identify whether your issue falls under the vehicle manufacturer’s warranty, MoveMobility’s conversion warranty, or an equipment manufacturer’s warranty.
Have these ready:
- VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
- What issue or problem you’re seeing
- Odometer reading
- Photos of the issue, if possible
This helps us understand your situation faster and support you better.
Step 2: We review and advise
Once you’ve contacted us, our service team will review the issue and determine the next steps. Diagnostic work and warranty repairs must receive written approval from MoveMobility before work begins. Work completed without prior approval may not be covered under warranty.
Step 3: Approved service work
After the issue has been reviewed, we’ll direct you to a suitable service facility for the approved repair. Eligible customers in the Greater Toronto Area may also be able to access MoveMobility’s mobile service team. Availability depends on your location and the type of repair required.
Step 4: Quotes and billing
Before any diagnostic work or warranty repairs begin, the service facility must receive approval from MoveMobility. Our service team will confirm the approved work and coordinate the next steps with the repair facility. Warranty coverage for parts, labour, and transportation depends on whether the issue falls under MoveMobility’s conversion warranty or a separate equipment manufacturer’s warranty.
Imagine you’re running a transit program in Alberta and the wheelchair lift sputters. You take photos and the VIN, then call our warranty team. We check your information, approve the work, and direct you to an approved shop so you don’t deal with surprises or hidden costs. That’s how the process should feel: clear and supportive.
What does MoveMobility’s conversion warranty include?

When you’re investing in a specialized vehicle, your conversion warranty should feel clear and solid. You’re planning routes, staffing clinics, and booking client trips. The last thing you want is confusion about coverage if something breaks.
Here’s the foundation of your MoveMobility van conversion warranty.
Core coverage
MoveMobility’s conversion warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials for three (3) years or 60,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.
Refer to your warranty documents for the recorded warranty start date.
This coverage starts from the date your vehicle is delivered.
MoveMobility’s conversion warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials related to the conversion work we completed. If an issue is caused by our production or installation work, our service team will assess whether the repair qualifies for warranty coverage.
Labour is included when it is directly required to correct a covered MoveMobility production or workmanship issue during the warranty period. Diagnostic work and repairs must be approved by MoveMobility before work begins.
- Conversion components: Depending on the cause of the issue, covered conversion work may include flooring systems, installed seating, interior wall panels, cabinetry, conversion wiring, wheelchair securement installations, and other items fitted during the conversion.
Equipment manufactured by third-party suppliers has its own warranty terms and does not automatically receive the full MoveMobility conversion warranty simply because we installed it.
- Conversion labour: Labour is covered when it is directly required to correct an eligible MoveMobility production or workmanship defect during the three-year or 60,000-kilometre conversion warranty period. Repairs and diagnostic work require prior approval from MoveMobility. Labour for supplier-manufactured equipment is subject to that manufacturer’s separate warranty terms.
- Warranty exclusions: MoveMobility’s conversion warranty generally excludes accident damage, misuse, poor maintenance, normal wear and tear, and unapproved modifications. Repairs completed without prior approval may also be excluded from coverage. The original vehicle chassis and supplier-manufactured equipment remain subject to their respective manufacturer’s warranty terms.
Your wheelchair van warranty or mobile medical van warranty works together with other manufacturer warranties so that responsibility is clearly defined. That way, you’re not left guessing who to call.
HVAC systems, wheelchair lifts, ramps, and other supplier-manufactured equipment have separate manufacturer warranties. Coverage varies by product and may include different limits for parts, labour, mileage, operating hours, or usage cycles.
These components do not automatically receive MoveMobility’s full three-year or 60,000-kilometre conversion warranty. Our service team can help identify the applicable coverage and coordinate an approved repair. Any additional manufacturer assistance is assessed case by case and is not guaranteed.
Webasto limited non-transferable warranty
Your MoveMobility conversion warranty covers qualifying defects in the conversion work we complete. Webasto heaters and air conditioning equipment have separate manufacturer warranties.
Coverage depends on the installed system, so it’s important to confirm the specific warranty terms for your vehicle.. This is important if you operate in places like Northern Alberta or rural Saskatchewan, where climate control directly affects client comfort and safety.
Here are the most important points you need to know.
What Webasto covers
- Coverage period: Webasto heaters have a limited warranty of two (2) years or 2,000 operating hours, whichever comes first. Air conditioning systems have separate warranty terms that depend on the installed product. Contact MoveMobility to confirm the applicable warranty period for your specific HVAC system.
- Who is protected: The warranty protects the original end-user. It is non-transferable.
- What Webasto will do: During the warranty period, Webasto may repair or replace defective parts at its discretion. Replacement parts are covered for six (6) months or the remainder of the original warranty, whichever is longer.
- Where service happens: Warranty service must be handled through an authorized Webasto dealer. In Canada, you can call 800-667-8900 or visit www.webasto.com to locate a dealer.
What is not covered
Webasto clearly excludes:
- Normal wear items like filters and fuses
- Damage from accidents or improper installation
- Corrosion, misuse, lack of maintenance, or unauthorized repairs
- Travel costs or other incidental expenses
Product registration can be completed at www.techwebasto.com. If the unit is not registered, proof of purchase is required for warranty claims.

Next, you’ll learn about BraunAbility’s warranty.
BraunAbility limited warranty for wheelchair lifts

If your vehicle includes a Braun wheelchair lift, this part of your warranty is covered by BraunAbility. A lift is often the gateway to care, community, and independence. When it stops working, everything stops. So let’s break down the most important parts of Braun’s coverage in simple terms.
What is covered and for how long?
-
Parts coverage: Eligible BraunAbility lift parts are covered for three years or 10,000 cycles, whichever comes first, subject to the installed lift’s warranty terms.
-
Labour coverage: Eligible warranty labour is covered for one year. Coverage may extend up to three years when the lift meets the manufacturer’s registration requirements.
-
Registration requirements: BraunAbility registration deadlines and usage-cycle limits depend on the lift model. Check your lift’s warranty manual and complete the required registration promptly to maintain eligibility for extended labour coverage.
- Additional component coverage: BraunAbility warranty terms vary by lift model and component. Refer to the warranty manual for your installed lift to confirm whether any additional component coverage applies. The standard three-year or 10,000-cycle parts warranty should not be confused with the separate five-year corrosion protection available for qualifying BraunAbility vehicle-conversion parts.
This warranty applies only to the first purchaser and cannot be transferred.
What will Braun do?
If a defect in material or workmanship is found:
- Year one: Eligible lift parts and qualifying warranty labour are covered, subject to the installed lift’s warranty conditions.
- Years two and three: Eligible lift parts remain covered within the manufacturer’s time and cycle limits. Labour coverage may also apply when qualifying registration requirements have been met.
- Additional coverage: Certain components may have separate warranty provisions. Refer to the installed lift’s manufacturer warranty for details.
- Corrosion protection: Qualifying BraunAbility vehicle-conversion parts may have five years of corrosion protection with unlimited mileage. This does not provide blanket corrosion coverage for every component of an installed wheelchair lift.
Repairs must be completed by an authorized Braun service centre.
What is not covered?
Braun does not cover:
- Normal wear and maintenance
- Damage from misuse, accidents, overloading, or poor maintenance
- Travel costs, towing, lodging, or loss of use
- Parts covered by other manufacturers
You must notify an authorized service centre within the warranty period and schedule service promptly. Transportation costs are your responsibility.
Understanding this part of your wheelchair van warranty helps you plan for real-world lift usage across Canada.
Next, we’ll walk through AMF-Bruns’ warranty coverage.
AMF-Bruns warranty coverage for restraints and seating systems

If your vehicle includes securement systems or flexible seating, AMF-Bruns plays a big role in your overall conversion warranty picture. These systems protect passengers. They support dignity. They make safe travel possible. So it helps to know exactly what coverage looks like.
What is covered and for how long?
AMF-Bruns warrants that its products meet manufacturing specifications and are free from defects in materials and craftsmanship.
Coverage depends on the product type:
- Platinum series restraints: 5 years
- Silver and Black series restraints: 3 years
- Smartseats, Smartlegs, Smartfloors: 3 years or 58,000 km (36,000 miles), whichever comes first
- Head and backrests: 1 year
- Ramps: 1 year, including steps, head and backrests, and Hide-A-Way systems, where installed
Smartfloor, Smartseats, and Smartlegs coverage begins from the original sale date. The three-year restraint warranties are time-based and do not automatically share the Smartfloor mileage limit.
If an eligible AMF-Bruns component is found defective during its warranty period, the manufacturer or an authorized dealer may repair or replace the defective part under the applicable warranty terms.
Labour and transportation costs are excluded.
Warranty registration must be completed within 30 days of purchase. Keep your registration confirmation and proof of purchase for future warranty claims.
What is not covered?
There are some limits to be aware of.
- Labour and transport: The warranty does not cover transportation, labour, or other incidental costs related to removing or replacing parts.
- Misuse or damage: Coverage does not apply if defects are caused by accidents, misuse, poor maintenance, fire, flood, alterations, or using the product outside its intended design.
- Authorized dealers may inspect parts to confirm the issue is due to a defect and not incorrect use.
Stay tuned for the next section, where we’ll look at InterMotive’s warranty coverage.
InterMotive warranty coverage for electronic control systems
If your vehicle includes InterMotive electronic control systems, this part of your overall conversion warranty framework is important. These systems often manage idle control, safety interlocks, and other key vehicle functions that help your wheelchair van or mobile medical van operate safely in real-world conditions.
What is covered and for how long?
InterMotive warrants its product for:
InterMotive electronic control systems have a limited warranty of two (2) years from the date the product is shipped by InterMotive.
Warranty registration is not required to receive this coverage. Purchased InterMotive service parts have separate coverage of six (6) months with unlimited mileage. Keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
Parts supplied as warranty replacements retain the original product’s warranty expiration date. Receiving a replacement does not restart the warranty period.
Coverage applies when the product fails to function properly under normal use due to a manufacturing defect. The system must be installed and operated according to InterMotive’s written instructions.
If a covered defect is confirmed, InterMotive will repair or replace the product at its discretion with a comparable unit at no charge for the part itself.
This warranty does not apply if:
- The product was modified
- The chassis was altered in a way that changes how the InterMotive system was intended to be installed
- The system was installed in a way that does not follow the manufacturer’s instructions
Proper installation, operation, and maintenance are important for maintaining InterMotive warranty eligibility. Product registration is not required. Keep your product documentation and purchase receipts to support any future warranty claims.
