Funding opportunity

If you’re thinking about adding accessible transportation to your fleet in Newfoundland and Labrador, the Accessible Taxi and Busing Program could help offset the cost.

The Accessible Taxi and Busing Program is a provincial grant offered through the Department of Social Supports and Well-Being.

Its goal is simple:

  • Increase accessible transportation across Newfoundland and Labrador

  • Remove barriers for people who use wheelchairs and scooters

  • Improve service in rural areas

  • Support cross-provincial accessible travel

The province is looking for operators who can provide both the vehicle and dispatch service needed to deliver accessible rides.
